William Lee Dawson

William Lee Dawson, age 73 of Yorkville, IL passed away on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora, IL. He was born on July 18, 1940 in Peoria, IL the son of Lloyd and Lillian (McCullem) Dawson.
Bill was united in marriage on July 1, 1961 in Peoria, IL to the former Miss Madge Elizabeth Alcorn and they spent the next 52 happy years together. Mr. Dawson was employed for 30 years by Caterpillar, Inc. in Montgomery, IL, retiring in 1990. He especially enjoyed being outdoors, working in both his garden and yard. Bill was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle who will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Bill is survived by his wife, Madge Dawson of Yorkville, IL; his children, Brenda (Rick Anderson) Dawson of Oswego, IL, Pam (Justin) Morales of Aurora, IL and Gary Dawson of Grayslake, IL; his grandchildren, Andrew Klaczynski, Courtney Dawson and Kayla Morales; his brother, Don Dawson of Brimfield, IL; his sister, Bonnie Freerking of Hanna City, IL; as well as six nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Lillian Dawson.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, December 20, 2013 at the Oaks-Hines Funeral Home, 702 West Main Street, Elmwood, IL. Interment will follow in the Swan Lake Memorial Gardens, 4601 West War Memorial Drive in Peoria, IL.
Friends may visit from 11:00 AM until the Hour of Service on Friday, December 20, 2013 at the Funeral Home in Elmwood, IL.
