Verne Dale Riemenschneider

Verne Dale Riemenschneider, age 80, of Yorkville, IL passed away on Friday, November 1, 2013 at Seasons Hospice in Naperville, IL. He was born on May 16, 1933 in Aurora, IL the son of Robert and Viola (Leifheit) Riemenschneider.

Verne was united in marriage on February 8, 1953 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Yorkville, IL to the former Jean Audrey Bretthauer and spent the next 58 happy years together until her passing on January 31, 2011. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and uncle who will be deeply missed by his family and many friends.

Mr. Riemenschneider was a longtime member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Yorkville, IL. He served his country proudly as a member of the United States Army. Verne was, for many years, the owner of Riemenschneider Electric in Yorkville, IL which was started by his father and now run by his son Scott and grandson Tyler. He was the former assistant chief and a member for 53 years of the Bristol-Kendall Fire Department until his retirement in 2010.

He is survived by his children, Pam (Dan) Frantz of Yorkville, IL, Scott (Lou) Riemenschneider of Yorkville, IL, and Penny (Dave) Kellogg of Newark, IL; his grandchildren, Bob (Jen) Lynd, Chad Lynd, Michael Kellogg, Jennifer (Brett) Cole, Tyler Riemenschneider, and Rachel Riemenschneider; his great grandchildren, Erycka, Reese, and Lanee Cole; his brother, Art Riemenschneider of Plattville, IL; as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Viola Riemenschneider; his wife, Jean Riemenschneider; his daughters, Patricia and Diane in infancy; and his brother, Max Riemenschneider.
