On September 1, 2011, Scott R. Ames went with Jesus on the next trip of his wild life. Born on August 6, 1956 to Jim and Charlene Ames, he grew up in Oswego being a hunter and a motorcycle rider. He taught himself to become a master machinist and master fabricator while working at Jake?s and Englebretch Machine shops. If you could describe it, Scott could build it.
He married Marty in December of 1987 and together they spent 23 years of happiness. Scott and Marty spent 20 years raising a variety of animals on their farm.
Scott is survived by his loving wife Marty and their daughter Crystal (Kirt) Byerley. His grandchildren Charles, Corallynn and Alexander. His brother Tim (Stacy) Ames, sister Beth Ann (Scott) Harris. His loving nephews and nieces Josh (Tracy) Ames, Carly (Brian) Chapman, Jamie Ames, and Jake Ames. His great nephews Ezra Chapman and Matthew Ames and his great niece Isabel Ames. Scott leaves behind his truck riding dogs Bigs and OD. He will be dearly missed.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 until 1:00 PM on Saturday, September 3, 2011 at the English Congregational United Church of Christ, 301 Rhodes Avenue, Big Rock, IL with a 1:00 PM Service. Processional will be to the farm with a meal to follow.
