Ronald Neal Anderson (“RA”), 78, of Harris Road, Williams Bay, WI stepped into glory to meet his Savior on Monday afternoon, November 10, 2014, at Lakeland Healthcare Center, Elkhorn, WI. He was surrounded by his family while passing away peacefully.
Ron was born at Lakeland Hospital, Elkhorn, WI on December 18, 1935. He was the son of the late Carl and Marion (Peterson) Anderson. Ron married his best friend, Hildegard (Wolfer), on July 9, 1960 in Williams Bay, WI at The Gospel Tabernacle of Williams Bay. Ron and Hildegard enjoyed 54 years of marriage. They had two children, John (Tracy) Anderson and Douglas (Starr) Anderson and five grandchildren, Jack, Ava, Chance, Koby and Devin. He is survived by his wife, children and grandchildren and sister-in-law, Barb Anderson. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Edward Anderson.
Ron graduated in 1953 from Williams Bay High School. After graduating from high school, Ron worked for his father in the construction business (Carl E. Anderson & Son) for many years. After his dad retired, Ron bought the business and ran it for over 25 years. Ron entered the real estate profession in 1981 working for Keefe Real Estate, Lake Geneva, WI. While working at Keefe he earned the prestigious GRI professional designation and later bought a partnership interest in Newport Realtors. After several years working at Newport Realtors, he sold his partnership interest and finished his real estate career at Keefe Real Estate. Ron’s comprehensive knowledge of land values and construction coupled with his life-long residency in the Lake Geneva area, made Ron a natural as a real estate broker.
During Ron’s career as a real estate broker, he also owned and operated a property management service company for close to 30 years. He managed several condominium associations in Williams Bay, Fontana, Delavan and Lake Geneva, along with individual estates on Geneva Lake.
In Ron’s early career, he was a Williams Bay police officer and volunteer firefighter. He was also a board member at the First National Bank of Elkhorn. He enjoyed volunteering during summer weekends at Road America in Elkhart Lake, WI as an emergency responder, starter and eventually being the June Sprints race chairman. Ron also enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers and held season tickets and was a shareholder. Ron and friends were present during the historic Ice Bowl of 1967. Ron had a passion for the water. He sailed the St. Lawrence Seaway with close friends and was also a captain of a 34’ sailboat in the Virgin Islands. Ron had a love for iceboating on Lake Geneva and was involved in several weekend regattas. Ron enjoyed golfing, skiing, snowmobiling, camping, auto racing, traveling and being surrounded by his family. He worked part time as a golf ranger at Geneva National Golf Club.
Ron was a member of Calvary Community Church of Williams Bay, WI. For many years he was a Christian Service Brigade and Awana leader. He served on the church mission board and was chairman of the building Committee in 1972, moving the church from downtown Williams Bay to its current location. Ron enjoyed attending church activities and being a greeter, usher and church elder.
A celebration of Ron’s life will be held at 11am on Saturday, November 15, 2014, at CALVARY COMMUNITY CHURCH in Williams Bay, WI, with Pastor Doug Anderson officiating. Visitation services will be held at the CHURCH on Friday, November 14, 2014 from 4pm until 8pm, in addition visitation will be held before the service from 10am to 11am on Saturday, November 15, 2014. Interment will follow at East Delavan Union Cemetery.
