Robert E. Leifheit Sr., age 82 of Sycamore, IL passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at the Willow Crest Nursing Pavilion in Sandwich, IL. He was born on June 17, 1940 in DeKalb, IL the son of Glenn and Kathryn (Schoener) Leifheit. Bob graduated from Kaneland High School in Maple Park, IL, in 1958. He was a Cement Finisher for 30 years, at Eagle Concrete until he retired.
Robert is survived by his children, Dawn (John) Remington, DeKalb, Sherryl (Joseph) Medernach, Sycamore, Cynthia Leffelman (Clayton Parker), Sycamore, Rhonda Jackowiak, Sycamore, Robert (Danielle) Leifheit II, Sycamore, Victoria (Dave) Fant, DeKalb and Michelle (Ryan) Schroeder, Sycamore; 20 grandchildren, Cheyenne, Brittany, Allyssa and Austin Remington, Katie Smith, Jacob Medernach, Wade (Ashley) Leffelman, Wesley Leffelman, Ashley (Nick) Hooker, Bryan (Jessica) Rhodes, Logan and Breanna Jackowiak, Boston and Jayzion Leifheit, Kylie and Trent Thomas, Kameron, Laynee, Kazmo and Shailyn Schroeder; six great-grandchildren, Gaige, Chloe and Ashlyn Hooker, and Jayden, Makenzie and Brooklyn Rhodes; his siblings, Rodney (Edward Scuri) Leifheit, IA, Judy (Chuck) Scheibly, FL, Roger Leifheit, AZ; also numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Margo Ann in infancy, Joyce Burton and Joanne Burton; and his former wife, Jilleane Leifheit.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, October 27, 2022 in the Immanuel Lutheran Church, 12760 Lee Road, Hinckley, IL with Rev. James Barbey, officiating. Interment will follow in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Hinckley, IL.
Friends may visit from 4:00 until 7:00 PM on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at the Nash-Nelson Memorial Chapel, 141 North Maple Street, Hinckley, IL. In Lieu of flowers we ask that you donate to www.alz.org for Alzheimer’s and Dementia, if you choose to.
