Rita Hendler

Rita Hendler, age 82, of Hinckley, IL passed away on Friday, December 24, 2010. She was born on February 2, 1928 in Hitchcock, OK and grew up in Missouri the daughter of Herman and Anna (Luebbering) Luecke.

Rita was united in marriage on May 22, 1954 to Mr. Robert Hendler and they spent the next 47 happy years together until his passing in 2001. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt who will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Rita loved her family and was a real people person. She enjoyed being a homemaker and loved to bake.

She is survived by her children, Lynn (Bert) Wilke of Arlington, TX, John (Marianne) Hendler of Olney, MD and their children, Annemarie and John Jr., Joan (Michael) Umano of Hinckley, IL and their children, Justin, Connor, and Lauren, and Jane (Rex Rombach) Hendler of Carmel Valley, CA; her sisters, Mary Larson and Loue Stryker; as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Anna Luecke; her husband, Robert Hendler; and her beloved brothers, Herb and Benny Luecke.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at St. Mary?s Catholic Church, 123 S. Countyline Rd., Maple Park, IL. Interment will follow in St. Mary?s Catholic Cemetery in Maple Park, IL.

Friends may visit from 9:00 AM until 12:00 PM on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at the Nash-Nelson Funeral Home, 141 N. Maple St., Hinckley, IL.
