Raymond Donald Corniels

Raymond Donald Corniels, age 85 of Montgomery, IL passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at his home. He was born October 13, 1925 in Yorkville, IL the son of Albert and Anna (Monkamier) Corniels.
Ray was united in marriage October 13, 1946 to Betty Mae Stahl and they spent the next 43 happy years together until her passing November 23, 1989. Ray was later united in marriage to Alberta Stephens and they spent the next 17 happy years together. Ray was a lifelong farmer in both Kendall and Kane Counties. He attended Cross Lutheran Church in Yorkville, IL. Ray loved his family and will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his wife, Alberta Corniels; his children, Susan Corniels, Larry Corniels, Bradley (Karen) Corniels and Lisa (John) Petrovic; his step-children, Kenneth Hoover, Crystal (Stanley) Burton, Jane (Larry) Hoover, Sherril (Loyd Jr) Freeman, Tanya (Nathan) Kennedy; his grandchildren, Heather (Jorge) Mora, Evan and Alexandra Petrovic, Sarah and Rachel Corniels; and many other grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his siblings, Betty R. (Jim) Whitley, Duane (Juanita) Corniels, Joyce Knight, Richard (Kathy) Corniels, Sharon (Jim) Hamblin, Pamela (Charlie) Ginder, Shirley (Bill) Mast and Eloise VanHauen; also many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his step-mother, Dora Corniels; his first wife; his siblings, Helen Siverly, Robert, Kenneth and David Corniels, Frances Messner and Lyle Owen.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, April 2, 2011 at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home, 410 E. Countryside Pkwy, Yorkville, IL. Interment will follow in the St. Paul?s Cemetery, Montgomery, IL.
