Randall “Randy” D. Johnson, age 69 of Yorkville, IL passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family after a long, courageous battle with cancer. He was born on August 26, 1945 in Washington, IL the son of Wendell and Lucille (Cremeens) Johnson.

Randall “Randy” D. Johnson, age 69 of Yorkville, IL passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family after a long, courageous battle with cancer. He was born on August 26, 1945 in Washington, IL the son of Wendell and Lucille (Cremeens) Johnson.
Randy was united in marriage on June 9, 1968 in East Peoria, IL to Betty Lou Meiner and they spent the next 45 happy years together. Mr. Johnson served his country proudly with the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He was employed, for over 38 years, in the Accounting Department of Caterpillar, Inc. in Aurora, IL. During his free time, he was an avid long-distance bicyclist, always challenging somebody to a race. He also enjoyed running and hiking and completed the Chicago Marathon in 2001. Randy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle who will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Randy is survived by his wife, Betty Lou Johnson of Yorkville, IL; his children, Ryan (Inga) Johnson of Anchorage, AK, Chad Johnson of Aurora, IL and Kristin (Mark) Cartwright of Marseilles, IL; his grandchildren, Dominic and Kylyn Johnson, Jocelyn and Clara Cartwright; his sisters, Cheryl (Ken) Kerley of Simpson, IL, Annette (Jim) Woodbridge of Michigan and Ellen (Craig) Sams of Germantown Hills, IL; as well as many nieces and nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wendell and Lucille Johnson; and one infant nephew.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home, 1617 North Bridge Street, Yorkville, IL. A Veterans Military Service will follow.
Friends may visit from 4:00 until 8:00 PM on Friday, January 9, 2015 at the Funeral Home in Yorkville, IL.
