Ralph Frederick Gearson, Sr

Ralph Frederick Gearson Sr., 84, of Plano, died Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at Provena Medical Center in Aurora. He was born on Dec. 11th, 1929, in Evanston, IL., the son of Ralph Joseph Gearson and Viola Burkhardt (Shermont).

Ralph was united in marriage on Nov. 12, 1960 at the United Methodist Church of Plano to Marjorie A. Davis, and they spent the next 42 years together. He was an enthusiastic gardener, and President and Master Gardener of the American Rose Society. Ralph enjoyed stamp collecting, bird watching, and photography. Ralph was an avid traveler as he enjoyed traveling the world with his wife and Marjorie’s Aunt and Uncle, Glen and Nancy Green.He was a Life time member of the Aurora Tennis Club. Ralph was self employed for many years as the owner of Help Inc. He is survived by his children, Ralph F. (Catherine) Gearson Jr., of Plano, IL., and Susan L. (Arsenio) Locsin, of Edmonds, WA; his grandchildren, Sarah J. Sheppard of Fairdealing, MO, Sean Michael (Laurel) Gearson, of Memphis, TN, Laurie (Patrick) Lockard of Westland MI., Cassie(Colon Pekoc) James of Sandwich, IL; and seven great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Marjorie, a sister Francis (Gearson) Marclay, and his parents and Marjorie’s parents.
