Rachel Lynn Stralka, age 18, of Sandwich, IL passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at Rockford Memorial Hospital in Rockford, IL. She was born on July 20, 1990 in Aurora, IL the daughter of David and Diane Lynn (Smith) Stralka.
Rachel was a member of St. Mary?s Catholic Church in Plano, IL. She was a loving mother, daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece and cousin who will be deeply missed by both her family and friends.
She is survived by her newborn son, Wyatt James Stralka of Sandwich, IL; her father, David Stralka; her mother, Diane Lynn Smith of Franklin Grove, IL; her brother, Keith A. Stralka of Ottawa, IL; her sisters, Amber Lynn King and Raelene Norma Grace King, both of Franklin Grove, IL; her paternal grandmother, Carolyn Stralka of Sandwich, IL; her maternal grandmother, Norma Mae Pierce of CT; her maternal grandfather, Frank Alden Smith of CT; as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, John Stralka.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, June 13, 2009 at St. Mary?s Catholic Church, 901 N. Center St. in Plano, IL with Father Matthew Lamoureux, M.I.C. , officiating. Interment will follow in St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery in Bristol, IL.
Friends may visit from 6:00 until 9:00 P.M. on Friday, June 12, 2009 at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home, 1010 W. South St. in Plano, IL.
A memorial fund is being established at the Harris Bank, 2005 W. Rt. 34, Plano, IL 60545.
