Otto Olson

Otto L. Olson, age 82, of Plano, IL, passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2011, at the Willowcrest Nursing Pavilion in Sandwich, IL. He was born on December 28, 1928 in Morris, IL, the son of Andrew J. and Clara (Bromeland) Olson.
Otto was united in marriage on July 19, 1952 in Joliet, IL, to the former Lillian Claypool, and they spent the next 58 happy years of their lives together. He was a longtime member of the First Lutheran Church in Plano, IL, where, for several years, he was a Sunday School Teacher. Mr. Olson was formerly employed by Austin Western in Aurora, IL. He enjoyed music very much, and was a longtime member of the Golden Harvesters Kitchen Band. Otto was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle who will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Lillian Olson, of Plano, IL; his daughters, Sharon (Donald) Mitchell, of Plano, IL, and Brenda (Robert) Long, of Portales, New Mexico; his grandchildren, Megan (Nicholas) Konczal, of Sandwich, IL, Daniel Mitchell, of Plano, IL, and Donald (Cary) Mitchell, of Kiel, WI; his great-grandchildren, Autumn, Brooklyn, Will, Madison, McKenzie, Morgan, Daniel Jr., Dakota, Meadow, Cassandra, Christopher, Samantha, and Caden; his siblings, Glenn Olson, of Plano, IL, Leonard (Evelyn) Olson, of Galesburg, IL, and Barbara Oliver, of Aurora, IL; as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Clara Olson; his infant daughter, Kathryn Olson; his great grandson, Conner Mitchell; and his siblings, Olive Mickelson, Marguerite Mikkelson, Jasper Olson, Alvin Olson, Mervin Olson, Russell Olson, Eleanor Stoner, Alice Michael, and Gladys Walraven.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, July 14, 2011 at the First Lutheran Church, 200 N. Center St., Plano, IL, with Pastor Bruce Booher officiating. Interment will follow in the Plattville Lutheran Cemetery, in Plattville, IL.
Friends may visit from 4:00 until 7:00 PM on Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home, 1010 W. South St., Plano, IL.
