Linda (and family), know that I have wept with both sadness and joy at finding out our Silly Millie had finally been called home! We'd said many many rosaries and prayers and had Communion, but Millie loved the stories! My, how she loved little stories about saints, or tidbits about things Pope John Paul II said or did. I'd been saddened that for the last 5 or 6 months she'd been too tired to wake up when I knew she loved the visits, and she was so sweet, she would apologize for not being able to stay awake. I missed her silly jokes, the stories of how she flirted with Father Joe, and even her stories...of when she was a little girl, or how saddened she was when God took her sister instead of her. I loved how she would sing along with the songs I brought with my ipod...she would sing How Great Thou Art, and danced with her entire body when I played things like Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy of Company B. I'm glad that she was taken so quickly, but sad for myself, because I wanted so much to say some prayers with her before she left. I understand your grief, for I grieve as well. If I hadn't been committed to babysit our grandbaby today, I would be at that mass this morning. God bless you all now as you say farewell, as I know Millie has been blessed with having Jesus AND Mary holding her hand as she left. She looked forward to that, through Mary's promise to those who prayed the rosary. --We will miss you, Millie, give Mary a hug for me! Fran
