Mildred G. Radtke

Mildred G. Radtke, age 87, of DeKalb, IL, formally of Waterman, IL, passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2009 at the DeKalb County Rehab and Nursing Center, in DeKalb, IL. She was born on September 18, 1921 in Waterman, IL the daughter of Arthur and Hazel (Matteson) Houghtby.
Mildred was united in marriage on May 30, 1943 in San Diego, CA, to Mr. Harley Radtke and they spent the next 66 happy years of their lives together. Mrs. Radtke was a member of the Foursquare Church in DeKalb, IL. She was also a member of the Waterman Business Association. Mildred was, for many years, the Bookkeeper of the family owned business, Radtke Refridgeration and Service Company, in Waterman, IL. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt who will be deeply missed by both family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Harley Radtke of DeKalb, IL; her children, Linda (John) Dersch of DeKalb, IL, Richard (Nancy) Radtke of Waterman, IL and Christine Vaccarello of Cortland, IL; her 10 grandchildren; her 13 great-grandchildren; her sister, Dorothy Larsen of Bagley, MN; her brother, Raymond Houghtby, of Jacksonville, FL; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Hazel Houghtby; her brothers, Harold, Stanley, Kenneth, and Glenn Houghtby; and her sisters, Florence Larsen, Jeanne Sproul and Evelyn Brewer.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, July 11, 2009 at the Foursquare Church of DeKalb, 210 Grove St., DeKalb, IL, with Pastor Dennis Campbell officiating.
