Margaret Bernice Johnston Ramsey, age 97 of Aurora, IL, formerly of Plano, IL passed away on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at Jennings Terrace in Aurora, IL. She was born on November 6, 1916 in Ohio, IL the daughter of Charles Bernard and Myrtle Eva (Minkler) Johnston.
She was a graduate of the Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, IL. Margaret was united in marriage on August 16, 1944 in French Link, IN to Mr. Clifford Lawrence Ramsey and they spent the next 49 happy years together until his passing in 1993. Margaret was employed for four years by the American College of Surgeons in Chicago, IL. She was also the owner and operator for several years of Public Stenographer Service in the Stevens Building in Chicago, IL. Mrs. Ramsey worked for six years as a secretary at Century Metalcraft Corporation in both Chicago, IL and Kansas City, KS. She retired after 34 years in the Production Planning Department at Plano Molding Company in Plano, IL. Margaret was a long time member of the United Methodist Church of Plano in Plano, IL. She was a lifetime member of the Plano American Legion and the Kendall County Historical Society. She was also a member of Golden Harvesters Senior Club in Plano, IL since its beginning in 1973. Margaret was a Co-founder and member of the Golden Harvesters Kitchen Band in Plano, IL since it innovation in 1973. She was a loving daughter, wife, sister, and aunt who will be deeply missed by her family and many friends.
She is survived by her nieces, Reverend Dr. Cynthia Ann Gray, Janet Halvosen and Reta Lynn Ramsey; her nephews, Dan Ramsey and Ron Ramsey; as well as her great, great-great, and great-great-great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Margaret Johnston; her husband, Clifford Lawrence Ramsey; as well as her older sister, Dorothy Ethelyn Johnston Kelley.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, September 25, 2014 at the United Methodist Church in Plano, 219 N Hale St., Plano, IL with Pastor Kent Svendsen officiating. Interment will be private.
