Lois J. "Sarge" Anderson

Lois J. “Sarge” Anderson, age 73, of Millington, IL passed away on Thursday, June 1, 2023 at her home. She was born on October 29, 1949 in Geneva, IL the daughter of Odd and Hattie (Lannom) Karlsson.

Lois was a proud Veteran of the United States Army having obtained the rank of Sergeant. She was also the very first female Iron Worker in Illinois. Lois was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt who will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Lois is survived by her children, Tom Wicks of Channahon, IL, Mykel Wright of Mt. Morris, IL, Walter Wright Jr., of Millington, IL, Aleta Sheryl McCormick of Elgin, IL, Susan Jo (Dwight) Lemke of Cecil, WI, and Angela (Andrea) Goggins of Chippewa Falls, WI; her 12 grandchildren; her 2 great-grandchildren; her brother, Karl (Karen) Karlsson of Shabbona, IL; also several nieces and nephews, including Karl Jonathon (Lisa) Karlsson of Paw Paw, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Odd and Hattie Karlsson; her husbands, Ken Wicks, Walter Wright Sr., and Thomas Bennett; as well as her brothers, Todd Karlsson and Steven Sterling.

A Funeral Service will be held at 4:00 PM on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at the Nelson Funeral Home, 1275 South Countyline Road, Sandwich, IL. Interment will be private.

Friends may visit from 12:00 pm until the Hour of Service on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at the Funeral Home in Sandwich, IL.
