Lillian Thompson, age 92, of Yorkville, IL, passed away on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at Jennings Terrace in Aurora, IL. She was born on February 18, 1922 in Newark, IL the daughter of Bernard and Annie (Ackley) Mathre.
Lillian was united in marriage on June 18, 1947 to Stanley Thompson and they spent the next 67 happy years together. She was an active member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Montgomery, IL, having served for many years as a Sunday School Teacher. Lillian was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt who will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Stanley Thompson of Yorkville, IL; her two sons, Gary Thompson of Aurora, IL and Bruce (Linda) Thompson of Ashville, NC; her two granddaughters, Andrea and Allison Thompson of Ashville, NC; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bernard and Annie Mathre; her three sisters and one brother.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:30 AM on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at the St. Olaf Lutheran Church, 1233 Douglas Ave, Montgomery, IL with Pastor Joshua Skogerboe, officiating. Interment will follow in the West Lisbon Cemetery in Lisbon, IL.
Friends may visit from 10:30 AM until the Hour of Service on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at St. Olaf Lutheran Church.
