LeRoy Raymond Kohler

LeRoy Raymond Kohler, age 91 of Shabbona, IL passed away Sunday, March 6, 2011 at the Shabbona Health Care Center, Shabbona, IL. He was born December 22, 1919 in Harding, IL the son of Charles and Josephine (Thompson) Kohler.
LeRoy was united in marriage December 5, 1943 to Miss Virginia Daker, the mother of his children, they spent the next 59 years together until her passing August 19, 2003. Mr. Kohler was later married on November 27, 2004 to the former Neva Mae Dean and they spent the next 6 happy years together. LeRoy served his country proudly as a member of the United States Army during WWII. He attended the Hinckley First United Methodist Church, Hinckley, IL. LeRoy enjoyed fishing and watching sports on television with his family and friends. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle who will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Neva Kohler of Shabbona, IL; his children, Lon (Dr. Linda) Kohler of Olathe, KS, Dan (Carol) Kohler of Hinckley, IL and Tom Kohler of FL; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; also several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Virginia Kohler; his son, Robert Kohler; his foster daughter, Phyllis Pike; five brothers, and one sister.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, March 11, 2011 at the Hinckley First United Methodist Church, 801 N. Sycamore St., Hinckley, IL with Reverend Laura Crites, officiating. Interment will follow in the Pratt Cemetery, Sandwich, IL.
Friends may visit from 4:00 until 7:00 PM, Thursday, March 10, 2011 at the Nash-Nelson Memorial Chapel, 141 N. Maple St., Hinckley, IL.
