Lendell Ray Pickett

Lendell Ray Pickett, age 54 of Yorkville, IL passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at Seasons Hospice in Naperville, IL. He was born on November 16, 1959 in Wood River, IL the son of Lendell Ray and Myrtle Oveta (Lane) Oxford.
Ray was united in marriage on October 13, 1979 in Villa Park, IL to Miss Darla Henderson and they spent the next 34 happy years together. Mr. Pickett was a car enthusiast, winning many trophies at car shows. Ray also enjoyed hiking, fishing, ice fishing, camping and boating, but most of all spending time with his family. He was an aviation enthusiast, who especially enjoyed flying Ultra Lights and was at this time taking classes to obtain his pilot?s license. He had recently obtained his CDL license and it was his plan to become a Truck Driver. Ray was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle who will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Ray is survived by his wife, Darla Pickett of Yorkville, IL; his daughters, Kristy Pickett of Yorkville, IL, Crystal Pickett of Sioux Falls, SD and Ashley Pickett of Yorkville, IL; his grandchildren, Brianna Ormsby and James Pickett; his brother, Dwayne Pickett; his sisters, Randie Jenkins, Sandy Pirofalo, Elva Pickett, Candy Pickett, Mattie Dyminski and Robbin Pickett; also many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lendell Ray Oxford; his mother and step-father, Myrtle and Kenneth Pickett; his brothers, Ricky and Millford Pickett; his uncles, Wendell J. and Glendel Bud Oxford; and a cousin, Dennis Paul Lane.
A Funeral Service will be held at 4:00 PM on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home, 1010 West South Street in Plano, IL. Interment will be private.
Memorial contributions for Ray may be directed to his family.
Friends may visit from 1:00 PM until the Hour of Service on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at the Funeral Home in Plano, IL.
