Kathryn M. Henne

Kathryn M. , age 88, of Yorkville, IL passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at Hillside Rehab & Care Center in Yorkville, IL. She was born on April 11, 1924 in Aurora, IL the daughter of August and Rose (Cornwell) Saum.

Kathryn was united in marriage on July 24, 1943 to Lester A. Henne and they spent the next 55 happy years together until his passing on June 16, 1998. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and aunt who will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Mrs. Henne was a longtime member of Cross Lutheran Church in Yorkville, IL. In the mid 1940’s Kathryn was first employed by Stoner Corporation in Aurora, IL making machine gun shells for the war. She later worked for many years as a supervisor for Western Electric in Montgomery, IL. Kathryn was also employed by the Barley Fork and the Breadboard Restaurants in Yorkville, IL. She enjoyed several hobbies including gardening, cooking, baking, ceramics, and playing bingo.

She is survived by her daughters, Judith H. Barnes of Chicago, IL, Janice (Rodney) Olson of Yorkville, IL, and Joanne (Michael) Gardner of New Lenox, IL; her grandchildren, Vikki Olson of Houston, TX, Angela (Kevin) Klisz of Woodstock, IL, Scott (Brooke) Gardner of New Lenox, IL, and Jeffrey Gardner of Blacksburg, VA; her great grandson, Mason Klisz and another great grandchild due in May; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, August and Rose Saum; her husband, Lester Henne; her sisters, Dorothy Weiss, Ruth Weaver, Gertrude Johnson, Bernice Weiss, and Marie Saum; and her brothers, George Saum, Clifford Saum, Leroy Saum, and Donald Saum.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at Cross Lutheran Church, 8609 Route 47, Yorkville, IL with Pastor Herbert Grieves officiating. Interment will follow in the Cross Lutheran Cemetery in Yorkville, IL.

Friends may visit from 4:00 until 7:00 PM on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home, 410 E. Countryside Pkwy., Yorkville, IL and from 9:30 AM until the Hour of Service on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at the Cross Lutheran Church in Yorkville, IL.

Memorial contributions in Kathryn’s name may be directed to Cross Lutheran Church or The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
