Jeanette Behrens

Jeanette Behrens, age 85 of Yorkville, IL passed away peacefully on Friday, January 10, 2014 at the Hillside Rehab and Care Center in Yorkville, IL. She was born on February 3, 1928 in Sandwich, IL the daughter of Nels and Emma (Sebby) Hill.
Jeanette was united in marriage on September 19, 1951 in Helmar Lutheran Church to Mr. Martin Behrens and they spent the 61 happy years together until his passing on January 3, 2013. She was a very active, longtime member of Cross Lutheran Church in Yorkville, IL, having been a member of its Altar Guild and the LWML. She spent many Saturdays afternoons getting the alter ready for church on Sunday and enjoyed decorating the church for holidays. She loved all kinds of animals and was most happy when her cat Misty was curled up in her lap. Jeanette enjoyed several hobbies including counted cross stitch and embroidering. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Jeanette is survived by her daughter, Connie (Dennis) Shella, Deerfield, IL; her grandchildren, Tracie Shella (Jake Wietzema), Wheeling, IL and Aaron Shella, Evanston, IL; also her two nephews and three nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Marty Behrens; her sister in infancy; two brothers and sisters-in-law and one niece.
Funeral Service will be held 10:00 AM, Wednesday, January 14, 2014, Cross Lutheran Church, 8609 Route 47, Yorkville, IL. Interment will follow in Cross Lutheran Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 4:00 until 7:00 PM, Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home, 410 East Countryside Parkway, Yorkville, IL with Pastor Erik Gauss, officiating.
Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer?s Association in Jeanette?s name.
