James Warren Penny, age 84 of Aurora, IL passed away on Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at the Provena Mercy Medical Center in Aurora, IL. He was born on November 21, 1925 in Brownstown, IL the son of Harry and Beulah (Doty) Penny.
James was a farmer in the area throughout his life. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during WWII, serving in both the Atlantic and the Pacific. James was a member of the Yorkville Legion Post #489 where he was Past Commander. He was also a Charter Member and Past Commander of the Yorkville V.F.W. Post #8234. James showed, for over 40 years, fancy poultry all over the Midwest. For over 20 years, James was a volunteer for the Sugar Grove Fire Department. He was a loving brother and uncle who will be dearly missed by his family and many friends.
He is survived by his two brothers, Ralph (Doris) Ginger of Sandwich, IL and Bruce Penny of Asheville, NC; his sister, Tessie Dugon of Vandalia, IL; as well as, several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Beulah Penny; his two brothers, Audrey Ginger and Dean Penny; and five sisters, Zelma Storm, Norma Thompson and in infancy, Helen, Bessie, and Kathryn Penny.
