James H. Wehrs

James H. Wehrs, age 82, of Plano, IL passed away on Sunday, September 24, 2023, at his home. He was born on June 30, 1941, in Aurora, IL the son of Herbert Heinrich Herman and Frieda (Strausberger) Wehrs.

James was united in marriage on October 8, 1960 to Carole Brown and they spent the next 61 years happily together until her passing on January 19, 2022.  Jim was a member of First Lutheran Church in Plano, IL. He was employed for many years as a carpenter. Jim was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Jim is survived by his children, Scott (Sharon) Wehrs of Downers Grove, IL, Gregg (Mary) Wehrs of Plano, IL, and Michele (Mike) O’Hara of Sabula, IA; his daughter-in-law, Michelle Wehrs of Port Charlotte, FL; his grandchildren, Jordan Wehrs, Suzy Newman, Taylor (Kyle ) Moore, Paige Wehrs, Matt Wehrs, James O’Hara, Mike (Joanne Miller) Wehrs, Tonya (Gage) Blackwell, Tiffanni (Rodney) Sloan, Mitch Wehrs, Mason Wehrs, and Katilin Wehrs; and his great-grandchildren, Caleb Griesmann, Kayla Griesmann, Colson Blackwell, Morgainna Torrez, Dominick Wehrs, Jayden Wehrs, Sammy Wehrs, McKenzie Sloan, Hunter Sloan and Aubrey Wehrs.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert Heinrich Herman and Frieda Wehrs; his wife, Carole Wehrs; and his son, Brett Wehrs.
