James Bowen

James D. Bowen, age 92, of Sandwich, IL, passed away on Saturday, June 30, 2012 at the Tillers Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Oswego, IL. He was born on February 19, 1920, in Indiana, the son of David and Leah (McCormick) Bowen.
James was united in marriage on September 1, 1943 to the former Helen Turke, and they spent 65 happy years of their lives together until her passing on June 22, 2009. He served his country proudly with the United States Army Air Corps during World War II. Mr. Bowen was employed, for many years, as the Vice President of the Cicero State Bank, in Cicero, IL. He was a member of both the Masonic Lodge and the American Legion. James was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and cousin who will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his grandchildren, David (Christina) Bowen, of St. Charles, MO, Christine (John) Conrad, of Sandwich, IL, Jenny (Justin) Oas, of Hinckley, IL, and James (Lynnette) Bowen, of LaGrange Highlands, IL; his four, soon to be five great-grandchildren; his daughter-in-law, Christine Bowen, of Woodridge, IL; his former daughter-in-law, Carolyn Bowen, of Texas; and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Leah Bowen; his wife, Helen Bowen; and his son, Philip Bowen.
