Jacinto Joe Pacheco

Jacinto ?Joe? Pacheco, age 87, of Yorkville, IL, formerly of Galesburg, IL, passed away on October 10, 2009 at his home. He was born on August 17, 1922 in Mexico, the son of Jose and Theodora (Gomez) Pacheco.

Joe was first united in marriage to Beatrice McAfee, the mother of his first five children. He was then united in marriage in 1968 in Rock Island, IL to Karen Judith Collinson and they spent the next 41 happy years of their lives together. Joe was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and uncle who will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Mr. Pacheco attended Immanuel Lutheran Church in Yorkville, IL. Joe served proudly as a member of the United States Army Air Corps. He was the owner and operator of several restaurants over the years. Joe was also very proud to have worked for the Galesburg Railroad for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Pacheco of Yorkville, IL; his children, Dennis (Sharon) Pacheco of Las Vegas, NV, Ronald (Joanne) Pacheco of Indiana, Tanya (Rex) Carlson of Galesburg, IL, Angela Gutierrez of Galesburg, IL, and Deborah (Tom) Schoot of Yorkville, IL; his step-sons, James Shumaker of Galesburg, IL and Richard (Rene) Zimmerman of Sarasota, FL; 25 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; his brothers, Jess and Shorty; his sisters, Dorothy and Della; as well as many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Theodora Pacheco; his daughter, Jeanine; a sister; and four brothers.

Funeral Services will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, 10104 Immanuel Rd., Yorkville, IL with Rev. Dorothy Wilcox, officiating. Interment will be private.

Friends may visit from 5:00 P.M. until the Hour of Service on Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Yorkville, IL.
