Irene M. Nugent McKeown

Irene M. Nugent McKeown, mother of 12, age 91 of LaFox, IL formerly of Bristol, IL, passed away in Denver, CO surrounded by her loving family, on Thursday, March 9, 2023. She was born on June 5, 1931 in Chicago, IL the daughter of Joseph and Mary Agnes (Faine) Judge.

Irene was united in marriage on September 2, 1950 to Mr. Paul Joseph Nugent and they spent the next 47 years happily together until his passing on January 23, 1998. She was later married to Mr. Thomas McKeown and they spent 22 years happily together until his passing in December 2021.

Irene is survived by her children, Margaret Nugent, Paul (Karlene) Nugent, Thomas (Lora) Nugent, Maureen (Ken Blaida) Dutkanych, Denise (Mike Schlau) Kieres, Michelle (Jeff) Muellner, Timothy (Yovana) Nugent, William Nugent, Matthew Nugent, and Raymond Nugent; her daughter-in-law, Sally Nugent; her 27 grandchildren; also her many great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Paul Joseph Nugent and Thomas McKeown; her son, Christopher Nugent on February 13, 2002; her daughter, Mary Alice Nugent on April 18, 2012; her loving sister, Josephine Judge; also her sister-in-law, Mary Therese Nugent.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at St. Gall’s Catholic Church, 43W885 Hughes Road, Elburn, IL.

Interment will follow in St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery, Bristol, IL.
