Helen Wunsch

Helen M. Wunsch, age 95, of Oswego, IL passed away surrounded by her loving grandchildren on Sunday, April 11, 2010 at Bickford of Oswego. She was born on August 9, 1914 in Hinckley, IL the daughter of Elmer and Matilda (Stockhowe) Schumacher.

Helen was united in marriage on January 24, 1946 at the Evangelical United Brethren Church in Aurora, IL to Dr. Lloyd A. Wunsch and they spent the next 47 happy years of their lives together until his passing on October 13, 1993. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and aunt who will be deeply missed by her family and many friends.

Mrs. Wunsch was a devoted and active member of the Bethany United Methodist Church in Aurora, IL and a member of both its Dorcas Circle and Fellowship Class. Helen was a graduate of North Central College in Naperville, IL. For many years she taught Kindergarten at both the Yorkville and Bristol Grade Schools. Helen was a long time member of the Kendall County Republican Woman’s Club and the Yorkville Women’s Club. She also enjoyed several hobbies including making ceramics and knitting with her friends.

She is survived by her children, Dr. William Wunsch of Los Angeles, CA, Robert (Zan) Wunsch of Lake Carroll, IL, and Cheryl (Rick) Brant of Sandwich, IL; her grandchildren, Eric (Danielle) Brant of Montgomery, IL, Joan (Drew) Mundsinger of Oswego, IL, Jill (Brian) Nehring of Yorkville, IL, and Stacey (Todd) Edwards of Oswego, IL; her great grandchildren, Rachael, Mason, and Brody Brant, Samuel, Madeline, Abigail, and William, Mundsinger, Avery and Miles Nehring, and Melanie, Bradley, and Megan Edwards; as well as one brother-in-law and one nephew.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Matilda Schumacher; her husband, Dr. Lloyd A. Wunsch; her two sisters; and a niece.

Funeral Services will be held 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, April 15, 2010 at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home, 410 E. Countryside Pkwy., Yorkville, IL with Chaplin Sharla Roche officiating. A private interment will take place in Lincoln Memorial Park, Aurora, IL.

Friends may visit from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home in Yorkville, IL.
