Helen F. Leifheit, age 73, of Plano, IL passed away on Thursday, May 4, 2023 at The Pavilion on Main Street in Sandwich, IL. She was born on October 21, 1949 in Vina, AL the daughter of Roy and Reba (Singleton) Holland.
Helen was united in marriage on April 4, 1970 to Jerome “Nub” Leifheit and they spent the next 53 years happily together. Mrs. Leifheit was a longtime member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Aurora, IL. Helen was employed for many years as the secretary in their family business, Aurora Blacktop in Aurora, IL. The most important part of Helen’s life were her husband, children, and grandchildren. She and her husband Jerry enjoyed spending many happy times with their family and friends at their house in Ft. Meyers, FL. Helen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt who will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Helen is survived by her husband, Nub Leifheit of Plano, IL; her children, Michael (Anissa) Leifheit of Montgomery, IL, and Kristine Leifheit of Montgomery, IL; her grandchildren, Kaitlin Leifheit, Kendyll Leifheit, Ethan Maggs, and Madi Maggs; her brother, Larry (Pamela) Holland of Somonauk, IL; her brothers-in-law, David (Virginia) Leifheit and Rodney (Sharon) Leifheit, both of Fort Meyers, FL; her nephew, Larry Charles Holland, Jr. of Somonauk, IL; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Reba Holland; her sister-in-law, Pamela Ann Secor; and her nephew, Jeremy John Leifheit.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at the Nelson Funeral Home, 1617 North Bridge Street, Yorkville, IL. Interment will follow in Lincoln Memorial Park, Aurora, IL.
Friends may visit from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday, May 12, 2023 at Nelson Funeral Home, 1617 North Bridge Street, Yorkville, IL.
