Gerald Dannewitz

Gerald Arthur Dannewitz, age 95 of Plano, Illinois passed away on Friday, January 13, 2012 at the Willow Crest Nursing Pavilion in Sandwich, Illinois. He was born on October 10, 1916 in Plano, Illinois the son of Arthur and Laveda (Neff) Dannewitz.
He was united in marriage on October 25, 1943 to Eleanor Celeste Moutray, and they spent the next 68 happy years of their lives together. Gerry was a loving husband, brother and uncle who will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Mr. Dannewitz served his country proudly in the United States Air Force where he flew 30 missions in a B17 over Germany. He was, for many years, the owner of the Kaiser-Frazer car dealership, and later the Chrysler car dealership, both in Plano, IL. Gerry and Eleanor spent many happy hours together ballroom dancing, fishing and golfing.
He is survived by his wife, Eleanor Dannewitz of Plano, IL; and his sister, Marcella (Arnold) Stewart of DeKalb, IL.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Laveda Dannewitz and his sisters, Frances Martin and Dorothy Dannewitz.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, January 16, 2012 at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home, 1010 West South St., Plano, IL, with Pastor Kent Svendsen officiating. Interment will follow in the Little Rock Cemetery, Plano, IL.
Friends may visit from 2:00 until 5:00 PM on Sunday, January 15, 2012 at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home in Plano, IL.
