Gary Ervin Golden, age 76 of Yorkville, IL passed away on August 28, 2012 surrounded by his family at the Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora, IL. He was born on August 27, 1936 in Spring Grove, PA the son of Ervin and Erma (Riley) Golden.
Gary was united in marriage on September 6, 1958 in Spring Grove, PA to the former Miss Grace Grim and they spent the next 54 happy years of their lives together. He was a member of the Cross Lutheran Church in Yorkville, IL. Gary served his country proudly in the United States Air Force from 1954 through 1958. He was a member of the Yorkville American Legion Post #489 in Yorkville, IL. Mr. Golden was formerly employed by CTS in Sandwich, IL until his retirement. Gary was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle who will be deeply missed by family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Grace Golden of Yorkville, IL; his children, Tammy (Dave) Cotton of Sandwich, IL, Crystal (Scott) Hose of Red Lion, PA and Shawn (Jean) Golden of Sandwich, IL; his grandchildren, Brad Paul Miller of Harrisburg, PA, Ryan Gary (Stephine) Miller of Harrisburg, PA and Brandon Hose of Yorkville, IL; his great-grandson, Miles Miller; his brother, Donald Golden of Spring Grove, PA; and his sister, Dawn (David) Reachard of Spring Grove, PA; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ervin and Erma Golden; and his sister, Judy Hildebrand.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 1, 2012 at the Cross Lutheran Church, 8609 Route 47, Yorkville, IL with Pastor Erik Gauss officiating and a close family friend, Larry Barbary participating. Interment will follow in the Cross Lutheran Cemetery, Yorkville, IL.
Friends may visit from 9:30 AM until the hour of Service on Saturday, September 1, 2012 at the Cross Lutheran Church, Yorkville, IL.
