Gail A. Brewer

Gail A. Brewer, age 84, of Yorkville, IL passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2022 at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora, IL. She was born on October 9, 1937 in Detroit, MI the daughter of Hugo and Margaret (Longhway) Gustke.

Gail was united in marriage on July 9, 1955 to Mr. Herman L Brewer and they spent the next 38 years happily together until his passing in 1993. She was employed for many years in data processing. Gail was a volunteer at Rush-Copley Medical Center. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and crossword puzzles. Gail was an avid reader and chocolate connoisseur. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt who will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her sons, Mark Brewer of Kevil, KY and David (Susan) Brewer of Glenwood, IL; her grandchildren, Jeffrey Brewer of Tinley Park, IL, Cam Gordenski of Glenwood, IL, Cheyenne Gordenski of Park Forest, IL, and Jeremiah (Lyndsey) Brewer of San Diego, CA; her step- grandchildren, Stephanie (Tracy) Sullivan of Kevil, KY and David Nicholson of Kevil, KY; her great-grandchildren, Cam, Chaise, Leyah, Grey, Sara, Hannah, Odin, Jacob, Bailey, and Katherine; as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hugo and Margaret; her husband, Herman Brewer; her son, Jeffery Brewer; her, daughter-in-law, Linda Brewer; her sisters, Elinor Smith and Joanne Sievert; and her brother, Paul Gustke.
