Frederick R. Cassier

Frederick R. Cassier, age 87, of Sandwich, IL passed away on Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at the Willowcrest Nursing Pavilion in Sandwich, IL. He was born on March 5, 1922 in Oak Park, IL the son of Henry and Helen Cassier.
Mr. Cassier proudly served his country during World War II with the United States Army. Frederick was united in marriage in Forest Park, IL in 1943 to the former Miss Marie Szczeniak and they spent the next 50 happy years together until her passing in 1993. He was formerly employed as an Auto Parts Driver for CarQuest. Fred, along with his son, enjoyed model railroading. Mr. Cassier was a former member of the Oak Park Lutheran Church in Oak Park, IL. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, brother and uncle who will be deeply missed by both his family and friends.
He is survived by his children, James (Rita) Cassier of Sandwich,IL, Walter (Linda) Howler of Naples, FL and Jacquelin Hornsbee of El Paso, IL; his twelve grandchildren; his nine great-grandchildren; his four great-great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Helen Cassier; his wife, Marie Cassier; and his sister, Evelyn Jackson.
A Funeral Service will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, October 29, 2009 at the Nelson Funeral Home, 1275 S. Countyline Rd. in Sandwich, IL with Pastor David Kaul, officiating.
Friends may visit from 4:00 P.M. until the Hour of Service on Thursday, October 29, 2009 at the Funeral Home in Sandwich, IL.
Entombment will be on Friday, October 30, 2009 at the Mount Emblem Cemetery in Elmhurst, IL.
