Frederick L Groner

Frederick L. Groner, age 75, of Yorkville, IL passed away on Monday, at his home. He was born on July 14, 1934 in Downers Grove, IL the son of James and Gertrude (Eichorst) Groner. Fred was united in marriage in December 2, 1956 to the former Shirley Sleeth and they have spent the next 53 happy years of their lives together. Mr. Groner served his country proudly as a member of the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He was employed, for 39 years, as a diesel mechanic by the Burlington Northern Rail Road. Fred was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle who will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Groner, of Yorkville, IL; his sons, Fritz (Terra) Groner, Rodney (Elizabeth) Groner, and Tom Groner; his grandchildren, Ben, Andy, Kyle and Kaia Groner; his two brothers, and three sisters, as well as, many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Gertrude Groner; three sisters and one brother.
Services for Mr. Groner were private.
