Dwight Fuhrman, age 75 of Somonauk, IL passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on Monday, December 5, 2022. He was born on October 30, 1947 in Chicago, IL the son of Elmer and Virginia (Carlson) Fuhrman.
Dwight was united in marriage on August 3, 1968 to Miss April Lejcar and they spent the next 54 years happily together. Mr. Fuhrman was formerly employed as an electrician and member of Local #134. He was a longtime and very active member at Plano Bible Church in Plano, IL. Dwight enjoyed fishing, boating and for many years belonged to the Sandwich Sportsman’s Club. He especially enjoyed spending time with his loving family.
Dwight is survived by his devoted wife, April Fuhrman of Somonauk, IL; his children, Tanya (Michael) Wenman of Colorado Springs, CO, Stephanie (Thomas) Owens of Joliet, IL, Allison (John) Kahl of East Peoria, IL; his 6 grandchildren, Joseph and Jason Owens, Jared Kahl, Ashlyn (Mike) Rundle, Genevieve and Evan Kahl; his brother, Dale Fuhrman of IL; his sisters, Anita (Ralph) Kreissl of TX, and June Fuhrman of WI; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two nephews.
Friends may visit from 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 10, 2022 until the Hour of Service at 11:00 AM at Nelson Funeral Home, 1275 S. Countyline Road, Sandwich, IL. Interment will follow in Oakridge Cemetery in Sandwich, IL.
