Dorothy Lillian Baie, age 93, of Waterman, IL passed away on Sunday, October 27, 2013 at Kishwaukee Hospital in DeKalb, IL. She was born on March 20, 1920 in Aurora, IL the daughter of John and Anna (Christianson) Orland.
Dorothy was united in marriage on December 12, 1942 in Aurora, IL to Mr. Arden George Baie and they spent the next 66 happy years of their lives together until his passing on July 7, 2008. Mrs. Baie was a lifetime member of the Waterman United Methodist Church in Waterman, IL. She was employed, for 30 years, as a librarian by the Clinton Township Library in Waterman, IL. Dorothy was a former 4-H leader for over 21 years and a loyal member of the Eastern Star. She was past Guardian of Job?s Daughters Bethel 66 DeKalb. Dorothy and her husband Arden were also members of the DeKalb County Farm Bureau. She enjoyed spending time reading, sewing, and traveling. Dorothy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother who will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her daughters, Ann Marie (G.W. Bill) Stanley of Summersville, WV, Joan Carol Stanley of Waterman, IL, and Donna Rae (Darnell) Pettengill of Lake Zurich, IL; her six grandchildren, Eric (Jo Ellen) Stanley, Valerie (Richard) Kiser, Christina Eddy, Annette (Christopher) Meares, Laura (Ben) Miller, and Michael Pettengill; as well as nine great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Anna Orland; her husband, Arden Baie; and her brother, Raymond Orland.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at the Waterman United Methodist Church, Cedar and Garfield St., Waterman, IL. Interment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery in Hinckley, IL.
