A Military Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at Fairview Park Cemetery, 1600 S. First St., DeKalb, IL with Pastor Kent Svendsen officiating.
Donald E. Roberts, age 65, of Yorkville, IL formerly of Waterman, IL passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora, IL. He was born on October 17, 1946 in DeKalb, IL the son of Wilder Deforest ?Zeke? and Dorothy (Evans) Roberts.

Donald E. Roberts, age 65, of Yorkville, IL formerly of Waterman, IL passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora, IL. He was born on October 17, 1946 in DeKalb, IL the son of Wilder Deforest ?Zeke? and Dorothy (Evans) Roberts.
Don was united in marriage on April 30, 1966 to the former Janet Peterson and they spent the next 45 happy years of their lives together. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle who will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Mr. Roberts served his country proudly as a member of the United States Army stationed in Germany and was discharged with the rank of Spec. 5. Don was employed for 30 years by AT&T, formerly Ameritech, until his retirement. He was an avid outdoorsman and a member of both the Aurora Sportsman?s Club and the Gateway Gun Club in Land O?Lakes, WI.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Roberts of Yorkville, IL; his daughter, Angela (Tom) Isaacs of Yorkville, IL; his grandsons, Thomas Christopher and Robert Wilder Isaacs; his brother, Roger (Linda) Roberts of Waterman, IL; his sister, Jerri Lynn Kempson of Rockford, IL; his uncle, Robert Roberts of DeKalb, IL; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Zeke and Dorothy Roberts; his son, Christopher John Roberts; and his brothers, Kenneth and Gerald Roberts.
