Casimer John Fatla

Casimer John Fatla, age 91, of Somonauk, IL, formerly of Chicago, IL passed away on Monday, October 24, 2011 at his home. He was born on June 24, 1920 in Armstrong Creek, WI the son of Jacob and Anna (Grandis) Fatla, Jr.

Casimer was united in marriage on November 16, 1946 in Chicago, IL to Rose Marie Scalies and they spent the next 58 happy years together until her passing on December 14, 2004. Mr. Fatla was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Somonauk, IL. Casimer served his country proudly as a member of the United States Army Air Force during World War II. He was employed for many years by Harrison Lithograph in Chicago, IL. Casimer was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and uncle.

He is survived by his children, Ed (Marcia) Fatla of Frankfort, IL and Linda (John) Fischer of Somonauk, IL; his grandchildren, Michael Fischer, Melissa Fatla, and Stephanie Fischer; his great grandson, Ethan Fischer; his five brothers and three sisters; as well as several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Anna Fatla, Jr.; his wife, Rose Marie Fatla; his granddaughter, Jill Fischer; his grandson, Eric Fatla; as well as his two brothers and five sisters.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 12:00 PM on Thursday, October 27, 2011 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 320 South Depot Street in Somonauk, IL with Reverend Thomas Brantman, officiating. Interment will follow in the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL.

Friends may visit from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 27, 2011 at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home, 1010 W. South St., Plano, IL.
