Benton Adam Coulter, age 40 of Waterman, IL passed away on Monday, January 16, 2023 at Mercy Medical Center in Aurora, IL as a result of a farm accident. He was born on November 20, 1982 in DeKalb, IL the son of Robert and Mary (Millspaugh) Coulter.
Ben was united in marriage on May 17, 2003 to Christi Gentry and they spent the next 19 years happily together. His life’s dream was to own his own farm and he was currently employed as a farm manager. Ben was a hard worker, a wonderful husband and father, and a dedicated friend. He was a lifelong scout and was a Cub Scout Master as well as an assistant Boy Scout leader in Waterman, IL which was founded by his grandfather. He was a board member of the DeKalb Corn Fest Committee. Ben enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and camping and was also a talented woodworker and known for his love of animals. He was not a man of many words, but music spoke to him, and he used it to communicate what was in his heart to those he loved. Ben was a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, nephew, and cousin who will be deeply missed by his family and many friends.
He is survived by his wife, Christi Coulter of Waterman, IL; his children, Emily Coulter of DeKalb, IL and Jacob Coulter of Waterman, IL; his parents, Robert and Mary Coulter of Oregon, IL; his siblings, Robert (Lisa) Coulter of Seattle Washington, Charles Coulter of Oregon, IL, and Shelley (David) Lozano of Spring Hills, FL; as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Ben was preceded by his grandparents.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:30 PM on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at Nelson Funeral Home, 1001 E. Garfield St., Waterman, IL. Interment will follow in North Clinton Cemetery, Waterman, IL. Ben would want tractors at his service, and all are welcome.
Friends may visit from 10:00 AM until the Hour of Service on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at the Nelson Funeral Home in Waterman, IL.
