Arthur Wayne Overlee

Arthur Wayne Overlee, age 88, of Englewood, CO, formerly of DeKalb, IL, Palm Desert, CA, and Johnson City, TN passed away on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at the Julia Temple Nursing Center in Englewood, CO. He was born on February 18, 1924 in Sycamore, IL the son of Almond and Hazel (Bristol) Overlee.

Arthur was united in marriage on December 31, 1965 to the former Ruth Feder Brooks and they spent the next 39 happy years together until her passing on December 31, 2004. He was a loving husband, step-father, brother, and uncle who will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Mr. Overlee was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Johnson City, TN. Arthur served his country proudly as a member of the United States Air Force during World War II. He was very diverse in his accomplishments. Arthur was a Hollywood and Stage actor, a Postal Worker, a Chef, a Restaurant Owner, and a Real Estate Broker.

He is survived by his step-son, James Brooks; his step son-in-law, Kenneth L. Pickerill; his sister-in-law, Jean Overlee; as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Almond and Hazel Overlee; his wife, Ruth Overlee; his step-daughter, Jacqueline Pickerill; his sisters, Rhea Overlee Henigan and Evelyn Overlee Henigan; and his brother, Cliff Overlee.

A private interment took place in Pearce Cemetery, Oswego, IL.
