Alyce M. Thompson, age 79, of Yorkville, IL passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2009 at Valley West Community Hospital in Sandwich, IL. She was born on December 14, 1929 in Aurora, IL the daughter of Carl and Engred (Michaelson) Siebert.
Alyce was united in marriage at Cross Lutheran Church in Yorkville, IL on September 14, 1963 to Mr. Earl Thompson and they were happily married for 43 years until his passing on November 6, 2006. She was employed, as a Secretary, for both the Kendall County Farm Bureau and Country Companies, in Yorkville, IL. Alyce was later employed, for 2o years, as the Secretary for the Kendall County Sheriff?s Office, also in Yorkville, IL. Mrs. Thompson was a former Sunday School Teacher at Cross Lutheran Church in Yorkville, IL. She was a member of the American Legion Women?s Auxiliary. Alyce was an avid bowler, belonging to the Women?s Bowling League in Yorkville, IL. She was a loving wife, sister, aunt and great-aunt who will be deeply missed by both family and friends.
She is survived by her brothers, Gordon (Mary) Siebert of Huntley, IL and Thomas (Chris) Siebert of Montgomery, IL; her sisters-in-law, Beverly Siebert of Yorkville, IL and Frances Thompson of Newark, IL; her brother-in-law, Stanley (Lillian) Thompson of Yorkville, IL; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Engred Siebert; her husband, Earl Thompson; her two brothers, Donald and David Siebert; and two brothers-in-law, William and Milton Thompson.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, June 1, 2009 at Larson-Nelson Funeral Home, 410 E. Countryside Pkwy in Yorkville, IL. with Reverend Steve Lombardo, officiating. Interment will follow in the West Lisbon Cemetery in Lisbon, IL.
