Alice Virginia Cantrell

Alice Virginia Cantrell, 89 of Plano, IL passed away Sunday, November 18, 2012 at her home. She was born January 24, 1923 in Wyoming, IL the daughter of Charles and Pearl (Clifton) Sliver.
Alice was united in marriage December 24, 1939 to Charles Cantrell and they spent the next 54 happy years together until his passing October 2, 1993. She was formerly employed for many years at Anchor Brush, Montgomery, IL. Alice and her husband Charles were the custodians at the Union Bank, Sandwich, IL. She was a longtime member of the United Methodist Church of Plano. Alice enjoyed camping and square dancing with her family and friends. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt who will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Alice is survived by her children, Charles T. (Sherry) Cantrell, Plano, IL and Karen (Ted) Oldeen, Plano, IL; her grandsons, Douglas (Tina) Oldeen, Plano, IL, Mike (Becky) Cantrell, Lake Holiday, IL, David Oldeen, Plano, IL and Joe Cantrell, Miami, FL; nine great-grandchildren; also three nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Sliver and her mother, Pearl Sliver Lester; her husband, Charles; her grandson, Timothy Oldeen and brother, Charles Sliver.
Alice?s family would like to offer a special thank you to the Unity Hospice and her caregivers for the loving care that was given to Alice.
Services will be held at 12:00 PM, Friday, November 23, 2012 at Larson-Nelson Funeral Home, 1010 West South Street, Plano, IL with Pastor Kent Svendsen, officiating. Interment will follow in the Little Rock Township Cemetery, Plano, IL.
Friends may visit from 10:00 AM until the Hour of Service, Friday, November 23, 2012 at the Funeral Home, Plano, IL.
