Albert J. Speenburgh

Albert J. Speenburgh, age 75 of Plano, IL passed away Friday, March 5, 2010 at Rush-Copley Hospital. He was born August 1, 1934 in Catskill, NY.
Al was united in marriage in 1955 to Miss Donna Thanepohn and they spent 52 happy years together until her passing September 5, 2008. He was a member of Cross Lutheran Church in Yorkville, IL. Mr. Speenburgh served his country proudly in both the United States Army and as a Seabee with the United States Navy. Al was a retired Commander of the Kendall County Sheriff?s Department in Yorkville, IL. He was a veteran of the Korean War and served as a past Commander of the Yorkville V.F.W., and a member of the Plano American Legion, Post # 395, Plano, IL. Mr. Speenburgh was an avid collector and a past President of the International Association of Jim Beam Bottles and Specialties Club. Al and his wife Donna were co-editors of the Beam Around the World International News Letter. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who will be deeply missed by both his family and friends.
He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Haag of Aurora, IL; his grandson, Jacob Haag of Downers Grove, IL; his granddaughter, Lauren Reeder of Fort Myers, FL; and his great-granddaughter, Adrianna Reeder.
He was preceded in death by his wife Donna Speenburgh.
